The Department of Agriculture and the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines signed a Memorandum of Agreement for a “Collaboration Work in the Service of the Agriculture Industry.”
The objective of the collaboration is to deliver support to the Philippines’ agricultural industry, reach and help farmers/food producers by providing assistance in the production and post-harvest as well as in the marketing of their produce, and in other aspects essential to the industry.
Held at the Bren Z Guiao Convention Centre in San Fernando, Pampanga, Department of Agriculture Secretary William D. Dar and Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines President Elizabeth Carlos-Timbol led the signing of the MOA. The signing was witnessed by DA Central Luzon Regional Director Crispulo G. Bautista, Jr. and Vice President of RBAP for Luzon, Gregory D. De Guzman.
DA Secretary William D. Dar and RBAP President Elizabeth Carlos-Timbol are also members of the same organization called Aguila, which also served farmers. More than a couple of years ago, they were discussing things on how to help the farmers and fisher-folks, along with other agriculture industry experts.This collaboration work will also make that common goal of empowering food producers come into fruition.
